We have been here about a week now and are working on getting settled in and familiarizing ourselves with the area. We are also trying to get our internal compasses set (Oh, that is NORTH?).
Good for you if you can set your internal compasses. I was born without one and must rely heavily on maps and the car compass.
we will keep our eyeballs peeled for that car.

Your license plate frame reminds me of a couple that were popular with the troops at the Defense Language Institute back when I was an engraver: “Linguists - use their tongues” and “Interrogators - are cunning linguists”. We had samples on display at our PX shop, and got quite a few complaints–all from women, for some reason.
New license plates will be one of my top priorities, too.
My wife and I are scheduled to fly out on Dec. 26, and the movers will come in on the 28th. Then my son and granddaughter will be driving the two remaining cars out on the 29th, carrying the important stuff, like my computer and the Martin D-35. We should be in the house by mid-January, for sure.
I’ve put up a little [u]Web page showing the new house in a couple of different stages, and a floor plan[/u]. My son says that the photo in the lower right is a bit overexposed, so the colors are truer in the others.
There’s also an upstairs bedroom/bath/entertainment center that’s not visible from the front.

Steal away. Actually, the dining room and living room are wasted space for the way we live. (We seldom “dine”, and nobody would call this “living”. 
)
One of the things that we noticed in a lot of designs that we checked out was that there is a lot of space wasted on what, to someone without young kids, is inconsequential stuff. Some houses have a “game room” and an “entertainment room” and a “family room” and a “media center”. I’d rather have larger bedrooms and closets.
