I was wondering if anyone would be willing to post on Clips and Snips, audio of different exercises or practice routines such as ornament exercises or embouchure exercises or breathing exercises on the flute? I think this would be immensely helpful.
I second that request ! Thanks - Tod
Everyone on this site has been so very helpful to beginners. I in no way want to disparage that and the overall open attitude of helpfulness on this site but, I had a feeling that asking the better players to post exercises and drills for Irish Flute or Whistle might be too much to ask.
I wish however, that someone would come up with a CD of drills for embouchure, ornamentation, and breathing. I would like to see a booklet of a couple of tunes with notation where breaths are taken. If something like this was produced I would gladly pay for it.
This is where the rubber hits the road for new frustrated players, especially on flute. Some might say that drills, exercises and notated tunes might stifle creativity. To the contrary I would say that these things would allow new players to develop the tools necessary to truly express themselves with the flute.
