Possible Scam on E-Bay

the item http://www.ebay.com/itm/Old-looking-wooden-Flute-with-necle-keys-/321377178980?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276 shows two entirely different flutes in the photographs. One is of a flute with a Boehm style foot joint and a rubberband on the G# key. The other photos are of a Nach Meyer flute with scissors action foot keys. There is no return on this item.

Too much to pay for that type of flute anyway!

Is the second photo an M and E?

Good catch dunnp…second photo is definitely an M&E.

What a mess!

while another (much more famous) possible scam is here http://london.craigslist.co.uk/msg/4418452204.htmlwe already discuss about it, and the flute 7049 is in a different collection at the present, so…

The OP subject doesn’t look like a scam to me, just incompetent listing - muddled up photos not carefully inspected/selected. Occam’s Razor, people! Sure, be wary of such mistakes as possible indicators of dodginess, but it’s relatively easily checked upon if one is seriously interested. If anything, the vendor also owning an M&E suggests they may actually play/know something about flutes. Yes, the photos could be harvested ones used as part of a scam, but I rather doubt it.
