possible piping workshop in Champaign, IL, January 22

Hi all,

Zac Leger, who in 2003 took first place on pipes at the Mid Atlantic Fleadh Cheoil (I’ve heard he did really well in the Worlds but have not seen that officially), will be playing with his band Oisre in Champaign, IL on Saturday, January 22.

If there is sufficient interest he, and the other folks in the band: Mike Dugger (guitar/vox) and Julian Lambertson (fiddle), will run workshops on any of: Uilleann pipes, Whistle, Flute, Fiddle, C#/D Button Accordion and Guitar. They want $20 per person for the workshops. Workshop attendees get ahalf-price concert ticket.

Yeah, Zac placed third in the over 18’s. No small feat!

Well worth it…and a bargain at that price.

Zac was in the process of moving to Atlanta before he went on tour and I took a couple of lessons from him…great piper and good teacher.

If I was a bit closer and/or wasn’t going to FL a couple of weeks later I’d be there.
