I have enough reels and jigs to stick with everyone in sessions. But i am lacking on polkas, i already know John(seans) Ryans polka, on the britches full of stiches, and i think it is call the kerry polka, but i played it for someone and they said it was egan’s polka. What are some of the most common polkas, and if possible an avaible recordings so i can learn them be ear.

Pick up a CD of Jackie Daly. . .he appears to be full of 'em!
I can’t tell the names of polkas at all, but Kevin Burke plays a nice set in If the Cap Fits.
There is a book out there of polkas and slides that may help.
