Poet's Flute ...

Has anyone ordered a Poet’s Flute from Erik the Flutemaker? I’ve got a Low F flute of his that I really like, and I liked the looks of the Poet’s Flute. Anyone got one?

Update: I got one for Christmas. I love it. You can’t play any traditional tunes that I know of, because it’s only got 4 holes and I think someone said that meant pentatonic, or something like that. BUT, if you kinda let go and “use the Force, Luke,” then you get some really pretty melodies out of it.

How about putting a little dity (tune) on clips and snips for us to hear?

I love pentatonic instruments! Just do a solo and it’ll come out as Chinese folk music
But seriously, do you have link or something so we can have a look at this poets flute?

Yep. Here you go:

I got the small one. It’s wonderful.

Not that I need anything else right now but I listened to the sound clip and loved it.

The trick with this flute is to not get discouraged. My first couple of days, I thought there would be no way I could get any kind of melody out of it. And don’t be fooled. If you want to play trad, this ain’t the flute for you. This will force you to make up your own melodies. If you can get through the first day or two and get used to the flute, you’ll make beautiful music.

My daughter loves it when I play this flute – and truthfully, it’s getting much more time than any of my whistles right now. I love this thing.

One more thing. My sweet wife paid the extra money to have this made in concert tune. How much that really matters is beyond me, but it’s in excellent tune according to my electronic tuner.

Anyway, I absolutely love this flute.

Best,

LJ
