Why is that everywhere I look (ie. youtube), everyone’s fingerpicking the guitar when it comes to melodies…

I mean, I have nothing against fingerpicks, but it’s two different sound generations - plectrum vs finger.
I always play with a plectrum, (learning process) and would really like to find some videos or anything of an experienced guitar player (DADGAD preferably) who plays melodic phrases with the plectrum. And I’m not talking about short phrases during playing backing…

Please let me know anything on the issue.

For additional materials and recordings, use the term "flatpicking guitar’ in your search. Tons of stuff will pop up then.
