… for me old Mum.

She passed away today.

No “sorry for your loss,” etc. please. It was expected, and I’m fine.

But if you wouldn’t mind sending a bit of music or a warm thought in her direction, it would be an appropriate salute.

She managed to raise herself out of very difficult circumstances and accomplish a life that was strikingly full of creativity and joy. She was a source of joy for a great many people who knew her, including those who cared for her in the nursing home during her last months.

Well, I just played her “Ashokan Farewell” (which seemed doubly fitting since it was topic of a recent thread) on my Jerry-tweaked Sweetone (which BTW is almost black now except for where your clear sticker is - the lettering wore away long ago).

And here’s a toast to her…

I lost my mother in '91 and I still miss her very much.
