I am a bit embarassed by this, but I’ve had a bit of a mixup… ![]()
I sent a C whistle in Delrin out to a customer, who subsequently decided to return it. No problem: the whistle arrived OK.
In the meantime, someone apparently sent me a Delrin D back for a repair. I say apparently, because in the holiday rush, and an effort to get whistles out to people, I lost track of who sent me the D ( I know, will the owners please line up…). I know it’s an oldish one because it’s in a plaid case, and I ran out of that material a while back.
Wait, it gets worse…

Someone contacted me, asking if I had a C Delrin. Terrific, just so happens I have one ready to ship. The problem is, when I went to pack up that C, I found that it is GONE!
The D remains in the shop. Now, I generally do repairs the very day I get them in and send them out the next day, so I’m thinking that I fixed the D (which is just fine), and then shipped the C back to the D owner. I would think that most whistlers would notice the difference, but a less experienced player might not-- my C and D differ only by about an inch.
Sooo… if I recently repaired a D whistle for anyone out there (since Thanksgiving) please check it and make sure it really is your D. The tuning slide on the C is engraved : PB
