If anyone is in the neighbourhood of Quebec City on June 12th, there will be a religious service in St. Andrew’s church to honour St. Columba’s day. St. Columba was an Irish saint who is credited with having brought Christianity to the Highlands of Scotland.
To mark the event, St. Andrew’s Church is having a Celtic theme to the music of the Sunday Service. This will feature a collaboration of Uilleann Pipes and the 150 year-old St. Andrew’s Church Organ. The piper will be Christophe Garenc (on his K&Q fullset), and the organist will be Dave Stafford (no stranger to the pipes himself - GHB & SSP).
Anyone within a reasonable distance of Quebec City is encouraged to attend what should undoubtedly be an unforgettable mélange of musical traditions.
I wonder how many chihuahuas it would take to make an 18" bodhrán?
