Oh my goodness!! I have just had the best time over at BBC’s Virtual Session… I finally had a chance to sit down and play with it, and have my computer cooperate at the same time.
I’ve never played Planxty Irwin before-- what a beautiful song! I’m brimming over with whistle enthrallment… Everyone in the world should do this, really they should!!
Blissfully yours,

It sure is pretty! I just went and got it going and am listening to it right now.
One of the tunes I play with the virtual session…ok, the only tune I play with the virtual session is Peg Ryans. It’s a kind of jolly little tune and it makes my 3 year old begin to wiggle and dance when I play it.
My favorite tune is O’Connell’s Lamentation. It’s hard for me! I’m keeping after it though, and I’ve got a bit of it almost down.

I agree with you all. It’s a great site. I already only knew Give Me Your Hand so have learned the tune to go with it on there, I believe Fanny Power, and already knew the Butterfly so have learned the two with it . I forwarded the site to everyone in our pipe band since most play other instruments.
WHAT FUN!
One thing I forgot to mention in my original post is how wonderful it was to play with the other instruments in the background… it made everything seem so much more alive. I don’t know if I’ll ever be brave (or good!) enough to attempt going to a real session, but it was sure nice to do a pretend one!

I love the virtual session myself…
Unfortunately, their version of Gravel Walk has gotten all skippy, starting about the 2nd time through…it’s enough to make a man cry.
