Anyone know what this plant is?

It’s a bittersweet vine (Celastrus orbiculatus).

How about this plant?

Three Mile Island

how about this one?

Looks like a Euonymus species, don’t know which one. Is it vine like or shrub like.

Denny answered it correctly. I’ve always known it as a vine. Mom used to go out collecting it in the fall for seasonal arrangements.

I suspect you are incorrect the receptacles are too large for the fruit.

Alright, it likely is bittersweet, the native though, C. scandens. Darn! Second time this year I was wrong.

It was a shrub, (I think), no leaves, walking through William O’Brien state park. I can probably figure out the rest. Most likely I will ask the people that in the DNR. At least now I have a general idea.

Here’s another deceptively hard to find plant.

As regards C. orbiculatus, you could be right. There are also C. scandens (the more likely species my mom collected, for its range), C. loeseneri/rosthornianus, C. angulatus (but that last is more shrub-like, not vines), and I have never seen the evergreen Euonymus vegetus around (a member of the Celastrae family, too). There are even more.

So yes, you’re probably right. I’ll amend and guess that if it’s wild it’s probably C. scandus.

They all get called “Bittersweet”.

Looks like judging from his description, I.D.10-t might have found himself a C. angulatus, but the capsule of that one tends to be yellow rather than red-orange.

The three plants look more like shills. Of course on the internet they would be sock puppets.

That’s a murdered sea robin in that sock’s mouth. I’m calling the cops.
