It’s driving me crazy…I know I know that tune they were playing in the bar on Tortuga. We even play it at our session! I just can’t think of the name! Has anyone else here seen the movie? Can you put me out of my misery?

I doubt it will. That’s part of my problem…I knew it’s one that our session plays, which means it’s almost certainly in Foinn Seisiún. If I could remember for sure how it went, I could find it, but all the other music in the movie drove it out of my head. I’ve played through several of the Foinn Seisiún tunes, hoping it would come back to me, and I THINK it may be Joe Cooley’s, but I can’t be sure…my brain has jig overload!

I know the tune; didn’t know the name. Now I have to go see the movie and find out. 
It’s a hornpipe, possibly two. If you look up the soundtrack CD on Amazon, you’ll find a listing for Tow Hornpipes (Tortuga), which could be a typo for Two Hornpipes. Click on the sample.
That was manic. 
Sounds familiar, but I’m not pinning it down.
My computer isn’t playing it, for some reason.
I can tell you that what I heard in the movie wasn’t a hornpipe. It was definitely a jig.

Yep – that’s it. I checked the soundtrack CD at Hastings about an hour ago, and Tow Hornpipes is, indeed, a typo. The track is called Two Hornpipes. I don’t remember a second one, but it must be in there. I was not, however, inclined to pop for a fifteen buck CD to get only that one track.
