To get off the topic of US/Canadian health care and the merits of a Rogge B chanter (which I wouldn’t mind having), does any one have any recommendations of instrumental piping videos? I would like to see some vintage Planxty/bothy band, Liam O’flynn et al. And, yes $250 to see Planxty in Glor is a good thought, but…

Fel, there is minimum video available. Here is what I have found commercially available in NTSC (North American) video format:

NPU Tutor videos 1, 2, 3 - NPU
Liam O’Flynn - The Piper’s Call - Tara
Boys of the Lough - Live in Concert - Shanachie
Steve Cooney - To Erin and Back - Full Circle
Various - Come West Along the Road - RTE
Various - Music of Ireland (from PBS) - Strausbaugh
Various - The Pipes, The Pipes are Calling - SeaBright

RTE has more on video, as well does NPU, but it is only available in PAL (European) video format. Sources on the web for these are RTE, NPU, Ossian USA, Lark in the Morning.

Hope that helps,

djm

Eric Rigler’s recording “Uilleann Pipes od Ireland” also is available on VHS.
