I was wondering if anyone had discovered the source of the piping elephant picture on page 18 of the December 2003 An Piobaire.

…this pic was also in The Piper’s Review last year sometime. I would love a better shot of this statue and to know its story. I hope to carve a replica and set it up as a shrine in my music room. I guess the grand piano will just have to go.

By the way, caught your act at the State Legislature (largest in the nation or close to it) on St. Pat’s. Very keen presentation of the “gentleman piper” image–will note that on the telly “When Irish Eyes are Smiling” appeared to be a very effective selection.

Yes, I hope to be a gentleman piper someday…never will be a young hotshot piper. Got the suit inspiration from Ennis’ “The Pure Drop” album.
