I’m doing a pipping concert at Garter Lane in Waterford City tonight, 30th of November if anyone is around - I’ll be joined by Maighread Medbh, one of the country’s great performance poets .
I just spent the last three weeks in the torture chamber trying to achieve the perfect sound from my C chanter, I’d say I made 30 reeds, all good, but none great till Wednesday evening, when I cracked it!. I’d like a spell in the funny-farm now for a few weeks.

Twas a difficult gig, room had curtains on the wall, no natural reverb, poor sound system, no monitor, no idea what I sounded like, dry air, hard-blowing, hard going.
