Just listened to an improbable snippet on BBC world service newshour. You can hear it by going to http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/programmes/newshour.shtml, clicking on the Newshour real audio link, and fast forwarding to 54 mins 10 secs. It should be up until at least 20:00 GMT today, when a new edition might displace it.
It would be strange if it were just an opera about Oklahoma, but a Scottish opera about Oklahoma with bagpipes is very strange indeed. 
(Pretty pipes, though.)

When I was in high school, they shot a PBS film, about the Tulsa Riots, in Chelsea, Oklahoma, where I lived. They were casting locals for some parts. But we moved back to the Philippine Islands just before filming commenced.
I believe that the riots were one of the saddest parts of Tulsa’s history.
P.S. While you’re thinking of Oklahoma, anyone who can offer prayer for those in the path of the present tornadoes, please do.
Pipes and Oklahoma. They go together like bread and butter. Why hadn’t I thought of this before? I could have suggested it for my school’s production of “Oklahoma”! 
It missed us by just a few miles…the storm that tore up OKC disintegrated just a few miles from my house. It was heading right for us, the news told us to take cover, we were all prepared with blankets and weather radio piled in the hall (the center of our house). We monitored the news and watched it fall apart just over the river from us. Even the weather man couldn’t believe it. We didn’t get a drop of rain.
