Pipers in Northern California

Greetings, all!

I read through the thread regarding commercial posts, and I’m pretty sure I’m not breaking any rules here, but feel free to stop me if I cross any lines.

I’m a beginning Uilleann piper and a moderately skilled whistler, but am a lifelong composer and a recording/studio technician. I’m getting married in June of this year, 2010, and am in the process of Scoring my fiance’s wedding march. I’m looking for someone in the Sacramento or San Francisco area (if you’re further out than that, you’re going to have to drive to Vacaville, CA, if you’re interested) who would be up for playing at said wedding on June 19th. You’d be paid, of course, and through further discussion we could work out how much, and what sort of travel expenses I could compensate you for.

I’m not asking you to dress up in a tux or rent anything…a black pair of pants and a white shirt would suffice just fine. Pipers should be comfy anyway. You’ve got enough work on your hands as it is without being stuck in a penguin suit.

Since the wedding is six months out, I wanted to get this nailed down asap so I can get the sheet music to you along with a recording of the music you’ll be playing along with. The only live musicians will be a piper and a cellist; the rest of the orchestra will be pre-recorded.

If anyone is interested, please feel free to post here, as well as emailing me at gregory.lammers@gmail.com

If you know of someone in the area that might be willing to do this that isn’t on the forum or hasn’t seen my thread, please feel free to let me know here or via the aforementioned email address.

Thanks!
