I gotta get me some of them. Cool stuff, thanks Lewis.

That’s THE chair to play on!!! Gaby’s craftsmanship is top rate and He plays a Woof C set

Somehow flubs don’t seem to happen when you are playing on one of those… don’t understand that.

$1,800.00

Hmmmmm… I guess I’d pay that to be flub-free.

$1,800.00

And worth it.

This is investment furniture folks…the antiques of the future…will last longer than you will and your heirs will be happy to have it. Its value will increase if you take care of it.

The chair is crafted of genuine solid mahogany. The finishing process is an 8-10 step process after the chair is made.

Furthermore, it is functional and built to withstand daily use.

It is art. Art that has been inspired by an extremely intelligent and creative man.

Kudos to Gabriel for his website and best of luck to he and his family as Irish Furniture forges ahead.

That’s all very well, but will it improve my piping? :stuck_out_tongue:

see above- flub free

That’s all very well, but will it improve my piping?

I would be willing to say that if you sat in it 1-2 hrs per day playing the pipes over the next year then you’d see a most definite improvement in your pipering.

So… Oui, Monsieur!!!

Do you have one of these Lewis?

I do indeed. I have had one for a few years now. The only problem with it is that it is also my wife’s preferred chair for playing her accordion.

I think that my Bard’s chair is the one depicted on the website.

I also own two mushroom stools and they are great for sessions as well. They tuck away nicely and come out when needed for surplus musicians at our home. The table that goes with the mushroom stool is tremendous as those who have visited Gaby’s home will attest to.

I also own a carved lion’s head wall plaque from Gaby’s shop (being a Leo I wanted it when I saw it) and it is a very special piece for me.

Gaby does tremendous work and you should check out the other sites on his link page. I have visited at least one of the $15 million homes he has rennovated many parts of (home theatre, library, den, foyer, bedrooms, wine cellar and tasting room, etc) in Newport Beach. Astounding work!!! I have also seen pieces parts of work he did on a kitchen remodel, a truly impressive commissioned fireplace mantle of his design that took over a year to craft, and a most impressive award-winning buffet he designed and crafted, amongst other things. He truly does high-end creative work with regards to ideas, craftsmanship, and installation.

In short, Gaby McKeagney is as fine a carpenter, crafstsman, and wood carver as you’ll ever meet. I have had the opportunity to meet his folks and visit with them on several occasions. His Da once proudly showed me some really fine classy furniture pieces that Gaby crafted himself when he was a young man…probably still as a teenager. Can’t say enough good about my friend. Buy goods from Irish Furniture!!!

I am thinking hard about purchasing one of his chairs, but it will have to wait until my coffers recover from my full set purchase and pending Harley investment.

The photos of his work depict incredible mastery of wood and tool, I can only imagine what the naked eye will reveal. A mighty artist indeed!

Sounds like you’re cornering the market on shiny, noisy things. Just don’t mix the two (I can see the headlines now - “Motorcyclist attacked by screaming robot-octopus”). :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, my future bike will have to suffice as a piper’s chair until I can get one of Gaby’s works of art.

Good luck with the acquisition of the bike, Joseph.

My brother is a Harley owner/driver. Some of the same characteristics about pipers, at least us menfolk pipers, apply to Harley drivers.

  1. They love taking things apart and working on them but mostly take them apart simply to be able to put them back together

  2. They love the sound of their pipes

  3. They get together for meetings on occasion

  4. They buy shirts to announce their having been present at their group meetings

  5. They love women who love them despite the cash draining aspects of the ownership

All of these apply.

Gaby does do very good work. His chairs and tables are quite sturdy. I have worked with wood all my life too and tend to be rather critical, but I can’t find fault in the quality of his work.

The Harley is also well suited for “The Fox Chase.”
