I was wondering if perhaps you could help me in any way. I am in the process of casting a production of A Touch of the Poet for Broadway. One of the characters in it needs to be able to play the Uilleann Piper and he needs to be in his 60’s-70’s. The other tricky part is is that he needs to live in the New York City area. Do you have any sort of board that you could post something on or a suggestion as to someone I could talk to? Let me know if you get a chance at all. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I think Mattie Connolly might fit the bill. Right age profile and one-time All-Ireland piper. I believe he lives near NYC. Sorry, I don’t have his phone number. He’s well known so perhaps someone might have his contact information. Best, Pipey
I too think that this is related to the thread from a few months back. Mattie was also suggested on that one by me as well. I don’t think that I have his number, but if anyone has his daughter’s (Deirdre - was with Chrish the Ladies for a while) or takes a pint at Connelly’s (formally Matchmakers I believe) in Queens, his son (s) own it, and could certainly get a hold of him. Mattie lives in Connecticut now. I really fine man with great stories and plenty of tunes and songs!
me, and matty connoly were both there for the audition, so they musn’t of liked are acting. cause we had to say some lines. dont know, i thought i done a role sheakspear would be proud of. (not)
