What do people use for pipe cases ? Are there any specific cases for pipes or is it a case of chopping and changing something else to fit the pipes. Cheers for any info.
Try a search on this
(Uilleann Pipe forum) forum for “pipe AND case” and you should find a ton of threads such as this one.
Hi tritaffy
Have you thought about a Saxaphone gig bag instead. I use a Ritter tenor sax bag. They are somewhat larger than the average one however.

It has pockets for holding reeds. blowpipes. popping strap etc and can take a couple of half sets easily. I have had 4 chanters in the pocket on the spine (the one between the handles in the image) and it will take a couple of low whistles easily. (Sorry for sounding like a Ritter rep).

Aha , A search function!! This should cut my posts down by half !! Cheers for the help
Gun Case - cheap and big enough to carry a full set without dismantling

Also, look at double breakdown shotgun cases. They might require some sets to be partially dismantled (bass drone slide), but they’re a little more compact than a rifle case.
I have seen these instrument hardware cases from GEWA on eBay.de from time to time.
The pipe friendly models seem to be the 110x30x30cm or 94x30x27cm sizes.

If ordered from retailer the cost ~50-60 EUR but I have seen them on eBay with a “buy now” option of 39.99 EUR.
