Pennywhistle in Alfred Hitchcock's Movie, "Lifeboat".

In one of Mr Hitchcock’s early movies, Lifeboat, made in 1944, one of the survivors in the lifeboat plays some tunes on the pennywhistle. I’ve never seen this mentioned on the board before and wonder if anyone knows what kind of whistle was used in the movie? - I failed miserably in trying to identify it.

Yours in trivia,

Mick

Promise I’ll look for this; I’m a buff and this is one of my favorite (top 100) films.

I did notice a whistle the last time I saw Lifeboat. Didn’t notice the make, as I was distracted by the playing technique. The guy who played the whistle played as though Hitchcock told him to just “wiggle your fingers slowly”, which surprised me, given the director’s penchant for detail.
I’ll try to notice the whislte next time…
All the best,
Mark Sackett
