OK I would appreciate a little discussion from all you knowledgeable people in the hope of me actually learning something.
If I take the dimensions of the medium bore “quiet” penny chanter and use them to make a nice boxwood chanter, do I end up with a hollow stick of firewood or do I get something interesting and why?
Are the any plans available for a wider bore “quiet” chanter anywhere either for sale or on the internet? Thanks in advance
You should contact David Daye directly and ask him. He is very forthcoming with his information. I know he has experimented with wooden pennychanters, but I don’t recall what the results were.
My first chanter was a wood penny chanter. Supposedly it had the same bore as a regular one. It sounded just like a penny chanter, but felt nicer. I sold it to a guy in Japan.
