A bit long, but priceless, and apropos today.

The Whistle

Wow, that really hits home.

I understand the parable and that the story is not so much about the whistle as it is about value.
That said, it become a matter of perception. Until his family ridiculed him, BF thought that he had a good value and derived much pleasure from the whistle. His perception was changed by how others valued the whistle.
If a Copeland brings you pleasure, even when compared with a whistle of lower cost (not necessarily lower value), it is worth what you paid.
But maybe Dale should add this essay to his high-end vs. low-end whistle comments…
