Hi everyone,
This C# set made by Alain Froment (which is the copy of Seamus Ennis’ set) sounds really gorgeous in the hands of Patrick Molard! isn’t it?
I think the title of the tune is “Na Connerys”… but not shure…

ps: I would like to say “thank you” to Marc Guilloux, P. Molard, Alain Froment, David Power and our president Jean-Luc Gastinel for the Breton Tionnol of last week! it’was great!
A lovely sound, to be sure.
Now go back and listen to Willie Clancy playing Na Conneries on Seoltaí Séidte, and consider which rendition best embodies the saying, “less is more.”
Of course, your milage may vary.
I love Willie Clancy style… but I love when a piper plays his own interpretation (I don’t like copies!).
I don’t think Patrick wanted to play as Willie… so why do you want to compare them?
Maybe there is only one way to play this tune, I don’t know… but in that case, it’s definitively the end of the music!

Gorgeous ! I long to meet Patrick again to see that set. Hum, I’ll be in Britanny this summer…
