Great, many thanks nickt!
Did you see my post where I ask you about which way you feel “your” design is soundwise better?

/Pan

Pan,

Check your private messages.

Thanks.

The sterling D is the first high end soprano I play so I don´t have anything to compare it to unfortunately. However the sound is great and the look is wonderful.

I am certain that different materials sound different, some say not but that is BS IMO.

You can feel the whistle (any whistle I know of) vibrate in your hands, well if it vibrates that much it WILL coulor the sound in its own way. IMO it´s not a dress upp simply an option of a specific sound. If it´s worth the x-tra cost?.. don´t know because I haven´t played any other Copeland D. For me it´s worth it for sure

Have an Abell D and Rose D on order, we´ll see how things turn out later on

Pan - the new design sounds better to me because it vibrates in my hands with each note; like it’s an extension of me. The notes are also clearer and stronger - there’s not a huge difference, but the improvement is 5-10% and that made all the difference to me.

When you get your Rose and Abell let us all know what you think - I have a Rose and played an Abell, so I’d love to hear your comments.

nickt,

how about the thickness of the walls of the bore?

Is it thinner/thicker than other/older designs?

/Peter

Pan - exactly the same: 1.5mm
