I was surprised not to see a post about this. Paddy Keenan will in be at Nanny O’Brien’s in D.C. next Tuesday night, June 27 th.
I happened to be in DC on business last week and went to see Paddy. The concert was great and he was accompanied by Brian Gaffney on guitar.
His tune,“Johnny’s Tune” was particularly moving.
I spoke to Paddy afer the concert for 20 minutes or so and found him to be a very kind and gracious man.
I went back to Nanny’s on Wednesday night to hear Brendan Mulvihill, he was equally brilliant.
All in all, not a bad way to spend the evening after a series of day long, work related, yawning festivals!
