Here are some Directions the good folks at Big Grey sent us:
From the Long Island Expressway (Rte 495) from New York City, take: Exit 36, Searingtown Road South --it is a right turn from the exit ramp onto Searingtown Road-- from Eastern Long Island, take Exit 36, Searingtown Road South --it is a left turn from the exit ramp-- travel @ 8/10 mi. on Searingtown Road, turn left onto I.U. Willetts Road. No. 134 is the white church is on the left side about 2/10 mi after making the turn. Also. Grand Central Parkway becomes the Northern State Parkway when it crosses the city line. Take Exit 28, Willis Ave South (if coming from NYC it is a right turn onto Willis Ave. & if coming from Eastern Long Island, it is a left turn onto to Willis Ave. southbound. Proceed @ 7/10 mi. and turn right onto I.U. Willetts Road. The white church at No. 134 is about 1/2 mile on the right.
Parking is available behind the church, and the concert entrance is accessed at the rear of the church. Other parking is found in the school lot east of the church. Parking on street is permitted. Please don’t park on grass in church driveway. (Regrettably, stairs inside do not
conform for handicap considerations re: power chairs and such.) The Long Island Railroad does stop in the nearby station of Albertson. On the train platform, one walks
back–the train continues in the opposite direction–to I.U. Willetts Road. Turn right onto I.U. Willetts Road, and cross over Willis Avenue. It is residential and safe. After crossing Willis Ave., look for church and white picket fence on the right. It is about 12 minutes total from the station to the church at 134 I.U. Willetts Road. Concert entrance is found from the parking lot at rear of the church. Another thought for those who don’t want that walk is to make inquiries if there are taxis at the Port Washington Station in order to take the LIRR to that stop and then cab it to and from 134 I.U.Willetts Road.

Additional Information on PADDY KEENAN and Patsy O’Brien
Paddy Keenan is generally acknowledged as the most accomplished and innovative uilleann piper performing today, once described by former Bothy Band mate, Donal Lunny as, “the Jimi Hendrix of the pipes.” Born to a traveling family, it is the traditional music heritage of the Pavee clan which nurtured his fiery, improvisational approach into the open fingered style of playing for which he has been renowned from the age of 14. In September 2002, Paddy was the winner of the coveted TG4 Gradam Ceoil 2002 Award for Musician of the Year in Ireland for his pioneering work on the music of the uilleann pipes over the past 30 years. The comments given with this award noted Paddy’s allegiance to traditional music rooted in his family’s heritage. His playing has been termed inventive, innovative, and brilliant. Paddy Keenan is bringing Patsy O’Brien with him from Ireland to accompany on guitar and vocals. If there is a venue near you that you think we should check out, please send us a note. We hope you can make it to the above events, have a happy and tuneful spring.
