P.J. Hardy Poor Man's Wood Flute

Has anyone played, or even heard of these?

For $899? How is that a Poor Man’s wooden flute? You can get some great keyless flutes or some keyed delrin flutes for that much.

Does anybody know what Til-Lite is?

Cheers,
Aaron

That’s roughly the same price as a keyless Hamilton. :astonished: :boggle:

I wish they had an image so we could tell what kind of flute it is.

Anything that costs that close to 4 digits shouldn’t have the words “poor man’s” associated with it unless it either has a roof or a speedometer.

If it is a Boehm flute, it could conceivably be considered a “Poor Man’s” instrument if one was comparing it, for example, to an Abell for 10,000.

Speculation w/o further detail, tho’.

Good point Paul though description suggests it is a traverso.

Had I scrolled all the way to the bottom of the page, I could have removed the “if” part of the statement. Lesson learned, read the whole page (but I’m never that patient). Here’s the relevant text from the “product overview and specs” at the bottom of the page:

Key System Boehm
Foot B Foot
Keys Plateau w/ Offset G

That does indeed cast it in a bit of a different light.

Although if you are picky and persistent, you can get quite a lot of Boehm-system flute for that amount as well.

You could get quite a lot for that amount.
