Ozwhistles.com down?

Is anyone else able to access www.ozwhistles.com ?

I’ve been unable to reach the website for weeks. My local DNS server has no record. Other servers return 67.19.218.194 as the website IP, but it’s unreachable from here. The IP resolves to nebula.websiteactive.com, and that’s unreachable, too. A traceroute gets as far as a router at theplanet.com, then chokes.

Mitch … ?

Just checked.

No problems at all from my machine.

Seems to be working OK for me
The whole website is still there. Must be something at your end.

Cheers

Big Brother is blocking your adress…

Other than that, I don´t know, it loaded in a second…

Interesting, thanks guys.

How about access from the US?

MT, I just used the link in your post and went right to the web site, no problem.

OK, it must be a problem with my ISP. Thank you all!

Shopping for a new whistle???

MTGuru,
Your link works fine for me, but I couldn’t find his new whilstles listed anywhere on his site!!

Works fine here.

the very next jump from theplanet.com is the nebula.websiteactive.com, which is where OzWhistles appears to be hosted.

No, I just miss seeing the lovely pictures of Stick and Goat.

I think the Oz whistles line is still in the “beta” stage, and not quite yet ready for general sale with set pricing.

Wish me luck trying to get Road Runner to resolve their DNS problem. “Please reboot your computer and modem, then reinstall Windows …” :boggle:

Here’s a link to the Vambrace pricing etc. I have an order in so I believe Mitch is out of the beta stage.

Yah … the website.

I’m hanging in there with the old site.

After about a year of trying to get “Zencart” to behave like a decent website, we gave up. All that just to enable credit card transactions - learning PHP, writing inventory integration routines, developing business processes, multi currency and everything … started to wonder which was the dog and which was the tail! It would have been a different story in the old days when computers were my passion. These days, I’m more inclined to practice on my whistle or go into the workshop and get covered in sawdust!

I’ll be investing in a simple shopping cart thingy from my bank when time allows. In the mean time, I can take card transations via email (Master card and Visa) - all details secure and privacy assured.

One thing I have noticed - It seems that Stick has worked out how to hack the site! I do hope he’s not wrecked anything! I think he’s been taking technical advice from his “IT Department” (Which is just a goon that he’s put a white dustcoat on). Being a stick, he can’t type real quick and it’s easy to hear him plunking away on the keyboard late at night - I think I can stay a few steps ahead. So far, it appears he’s only been able to get into his own page in the “Shop” section, but I’m keeping an eye on things.

(Edited to say: The “Vambrace” whistles might never go into the shop page of the website. I had a bit of a struggle with that - the main difference being that I’m not “retailing” them - I’m “making” them - that’s a whole different ball-game. The idea of making whistles for a store called “Oz Whistles” seems like inventing a middle-man for no good purpose. It would also serve to limit the offering - so “Vambrace” will remain a direct maker-to-musician thing for now).

I couldn’t get to Oz from my machine a week or two ago. Now I can

At work I have 2 machines. One is on our domain and one is on a seperate network.

I can get to Oz on the machine that’s on our domain but i can’t from the one that’s on a seperate network.

Must be the route it takes to get there that might be down somewhere?

It’s OK from my (gag) Roadrunner account.

I don’t think we’re in kansas anymore, toto… (get it, Oz, kansas?..Oh, never mind! :stuck_out_tongue: ) [yes, I know oz is supposed to stand for some part of the australian outback in this reference]

Aussie → Ozzie, with a back formation to Oz. It’s the whole country. Oz-stralia. And Mitch is a munchkin.

Most the locals just call it 'Strailyah. My mission (Jehad!) is to get the Oz back into Strailyah and the whistles back into Oz.

These days, I’m more akin to a “Yowie” than a munchkin. All these whistles, music and folk festivals are turning me into something I never was before! Goddamn - I used to wear a dark suit and advise board meatings about planned obsolescence as applied to market demand and demographic iconoclassical item category forecasting strategies (with real-time systemic decision enablement [with special regard to self-healing data storage arrays within prioritised 3-tiered enterprise access farms {read - “free lunches”}])! Look at me now!

(would you buy a 10 mill systems project from this man??!!!)

Some would say “More Bunyip than Yowie”, Of couse, no one has seen a Bunyip and lived to tell about it!

(For those who can see only a little red “x” instead of a picture - you are that part of the inter-sphere who cannot get routing to my website - I’m working on it! [read: “complaining long and loud”])

(P.S. The eyes are red because of a chip I got in one of them from holding my head too close to a gun-drill while it was boring it’s way through a peice of gidgee - I had to bare the pain and finish the bore, then run into the house and soak my eye in a shot-glass - eccchh, it still hurts! Can’t get red eyes from smoking anymore - too old for that! Get more high from making a whistle anyway [nyah to young people! ])

Mitch, please leave the planned obsolescence out of my new Oz whistle, thank you!

I had to look “yowie” up. When I was growing up, it was another term for “Maui-wowy” which would also explain the red eyes, but i see you already dismissed that theory.
