OY!!! I think I went and did it this time . . . I just saved a bunch of newer pm’s to my “saved box” (I think that’s what its called) and I noticed that the little bar graph at the top of the screen says that its 104% full. Even I know that a box can’t be more than 100% full. I don’t remember what all I might have had in there to know if some things might have gone to cyber heaven (been deleted) to make room for the new stuff. Or worse if some of the new stuff didn’t make it there and is now lost forever. That I couldn’t bear. :smiling_imp: They mean far too much to me and my family. Here I go rambling again. I’ve quickly (for me anyway) written out a list of the recent ones and those all seem to be there. Whew

How do I know if and what might have been deleted? And how do I save these things so it doesn’t happen again??? :confused:

Will - if you really want to save them, I’d copy and paste to a Word document or such and archive on your hard drive.

We have to do this at work with emails because our boxes have size limits, and if you go over, they lock your email until you get it down below that limit. When you send graphic files (such as copies of chromatograms), it’s really easy to get up to that limit quickly.

Will, I can’t remember the details, but one time something similar happened to me. One of my boxes was full and GaryKelly helped me determine that nothing was going astray even though, according to the box label, things should have been. He thought possibly that it might be because I had some room in some other boxes that the computer used.

My guess would be that at 104% you haven’t lost anything. In fact, I think it is very unlikely that the program would just start deleting your messages. It would probably just not let you save them and give you a message like “Hey, fool, your box is full, do something”.

missy’s idea about how to save permanently sounds really good.

Thanks, Missy & Cynth. It looks like you’re right. As nearly as I can tell, all of the older and newer messages are in my Save Box. Good idea about cutting and pasting into a word document in order to have a permanent copy of each message. My computer expertise is centered around clicking “save” or “delete” – it never occured to me to use the cut and paste method. Oh, well . . .

Nice looking dog, Annie. Kaylee gets along with everybody and I’m sure she’d have a blast playing tag with yours. What’s his name? I’m usually way off with this kind of thing but he looks like he might be part otter hound (the color, shape of the face and the fact that he tends to have a lot of facial hair). So am I the least bit close?

Kaylee gets a good shave a couple of times a year, too, and looks totally different afterwards. It helps her cope with the summer heat better and grooming tends to be easier when her coat is shorter, as well as a shorter coat seems to not hold onto the dirt and mud as well. And, believe me, she loves the dirt and mud. Despite this, I think she is a lot cuter with the longer hair like she is meant to have.

Do you let him roam? I only ask this because when we lived in the wide open spaces in MO our dogs would come and go through the fields on their own. But of course there were no leash laws back then. Kaylee has a large fenced-in yard where she can run, and when she goes for walks it’s always on a leash. I remember the freedom that our dogs had when I was a boy, and I sort of feel sorry for her, but of course our living conditions are a lot different now.

Oh, he would love it! He is a play machine! And you are Spot on about the breed - Otter Hound. His name is “Segovia”. He is quite a character, to say the least, and a moose! His favorite treat is to find a turtle… he actually eats them! Like an cookie - nibbling around and around till done! Shell and all! (cringe)

same messiness here, with burs, dirt, mud, pond scum and more … he will go directly from a bath (having had to be tricked into it and anchored and chased all the way) to the pond to get the right smell back. …unless there happens to be a nicely rotting pile of something the buzzards have been dining on handy… that’s considered far superior :laughing:

We have 4 dogs, and they tour the area for acres in each direction. We are lucky enough to have nearly 30 acres of our own, and pretty tolerant neighbors on all sides.

Tell Kaylee that Govie sends his regards. :slight_smile: (with Pasha, Ginny and Violet wagging their own tails… watch Ginny though… she gets jealous!)
