Overton Tunable Low D on Ebay

Up for sale is a tunable Low D made to your specifications(if you have any). The local kids youth club house in our village was burned down and funds are needed to help rebuild it. This is a chance to help the youngsters. The money will be paid directly to the organisation and the cost for ebay and the postage will be paid by myself wherever you are in the world.

Thank you for looking and hopefully helping

Colin

Hi Colin!

I recently (a day or two back) completed my order for a low D.
This is certainly good timing for me

However.. I can´t seem to bid on ebay.de with my ebay ID. Must I register on ebay.de to be able to participate on the bidding?

This is a very nice thing of you to do.

/Peter

Hello Peter,

you should be able to bid on any ebay I thought, we often bid on ebay.com with no problem. Maybe you need to set your ebay profile for international bids or so?

Anyone who is on the waiting list please feel free to bid on it, it can also be a large holed model, whatever you like.

Colin

Colin,

This is such a wonderful thing, I will gladly send out your message to the entire C&F mailing list if you wish. I do think that bidding for USA folks might be difficult on the German ebay, however.

Let me know.

Thanks Dale, that would be great.

If anyone has problems with bidding then another suggestion would be to contact the Ebay help desk. I think the bidder at the moment is in the US so it should work for others.

Yeah, if we can speak German…which I can’t.

Finally got it to work

Now I´m in and I managed to bid even though I don´t speak/read german.

Hi Colin,

Can you elaborate on how the tuning slide’s made on that tunable low D? Metal-against-metal, cork-lined, thread-lined, etc…?

Cheers,
Jens

Hi Jens, the tuning slide uses PTFE tape or plumbers tape whatever you want to call it. This can be bought cheaply throughout the world and is easy to replace when needed. You can also make it as tight or as loose as you like it. Hope this helps

What you can do is go to http://babelfish.altavista.com and type in the url http://www.ebay.de and set it to translate from German to English. When you get to the German eBay, you’ll find it’s set up just like the American one. Type the word “Overton” ino the search box, and it’ll bring up the auction. The computer translation ought to be good enough that with a little effort you can figure it out.

Hey folks, just substitute .com for the .de, and the item will come up on the “english” site just fine.

I already have one of your low D’s, but will gladly send a contribution to your cause. Can you send the URL or site to transfer funds to?

Ken

Hello Ken,

thank you for asking to contribute, it will surely be appreciated. They have a website but it looks as if it has not been updated for a while and it is in German. The url is http://www.victoria-mennrath.de

If you like to donate they cannot accept credit cards as it is not a business, they are mostly run by donations of the local people. If you wanted to wire money direct this can be done via

Bank: Volksbank Moenchengladbach e.G.
Account Name: SC Victoria Mennrath
Account Number: 2102868016
Bank Sorting Code: 312 605 18
S.W.I.F.T. code: GEN0DED1MRG
Subject: Spende fuer Jugendheim (which means: Donation for youth club house)

I think this should be all you need for being able to organise a transfer.

Thank you for asking

Brigitte and Colin

…thought I bring this back to memory as it is running out in a few hours…

A big Thank You to everyone participating, it is much appreciated.

Brigitte

The auction ended yesterday evening and wanted to thank you all again for helping to raise € 350,-- (Euros) for the kids.

We are really happy about it as we did not expect anything quite like this.

Thanks
Colin and Brigitte
