Is this mostly just a cosmetic choice? If you have had experience with both do you think there is an advantage to the anodized version? I know the standard version is a fine choice but I am leaning toward saving a bit longer and getting an anodized one. What do you think?
You may be waiting a while as the production of anodised Goldie Overtons has been put on hold owing to anodising issues. I got mine 2nd hand after I found that out - and lovely and purple it is too 
The standard version will be as robust as an anodised I am sure - outlive most folks I imagine. This topic has been discussed recently here - whether anodising adds to the longevity of an aluminium whistle.

I think the anodized ones feel nicer in the hands and mouth. I don’t perceive tonal differences.
