I received my Overton Low D yesterday.
I order it to Bigwhistle Shop, very good service.
I tried it, fantastic quality, very beautiful design, greatest sound, lot a back pressure, need more air requirement that my Dixon…but I understand why…there are no picture!!!(french language expression)
I received my Alba Q1 also, it play alone…

I remember that feeling!.. It will be interesting switching back and forth between the Overton and the Q1! What kinf of Overton did you get: Bernard/Colin, tunable/non-tunable?

It’s exactly a Bernard Overton D Tenor Short Reach, no tunable.

Interestingly, I have recently purchased the exact same two whistles from Bigwhistle!
I have to say that I’m in complete agreement with you regarding the quality of the whistles and the service from Bigwhistle.
The Q1 has become my favourite sop D, since it plays and sounds so well. The Overton reeks of quality, and is quite gorgeous to play…a beautiful balanced sound also.
The Overton also gives me the impression that it has many tone colours to exploit by careful blowing, however a recent bout of the flu has reduced my chance to play it very much since it arrived. It’s a very difficult whistle to put down though!
