My first attempt at a resto job was a Duster, blue as well. IIRC it had the 314ci engine. Was pretty quick for it’s size once the carburettor was in good order.
I have a lot of fond memories of that car, learned a lot too.
Moved on to a '64 Barracuda from there (oooh, there’s a fun car to drive- always turning heads once I got it into decent shape), and a '74 Challenger in need of more love than I could give.
My very favorite was my 1967 Ford Mustang.
I wanted a '67 since i was a little kid, and the day I took delivery of that car was one of the fondest car memories of my life.
They’re all gone now…
Finally had to sell the Mustang to pay for medical bills. Thankfully I was able to salvage a glimmer of a chance of one day getting the Mustang back; I sold it to my father to make sure it stayed in the family.
Even if I don’t get that particular '67 back, one of these days I’ll have another.
I’ve had lots of fun cars over the years, and whot with my bro in law being a performance engine builder, have had oodles of fun with Japanese cars (if I ever get a chance, I’ll take a video of our 312hp naturally aspirated Honda Civic, JEEEEEBUS that’s a fast car! And our latest Mini!, Don’t even get me started; 270hp naturally aspirated in a 1200lb car… If you have a problem with incontinence, this is NOT the ride for you!), but my heart will always belong to the 1967 Mustang.
