I nominate “The Thing With Two Heads” with Ray Milland and Rosey Grier (former NY Giants Lineman); that pairing alone should be a dispositive clue. Remember Ray Milland in the classic b&w oldie “Lost Weekend?” He had apparently sunk to new lows here. He played an aging rich guy who bought an experimental procedure whereby he would exchange bodies with Grier. Wouldn’t you know it, mid-operation everything goes on the fritz, and both Grier’s and Milland’s heads are stuck atop one body together throughout the (too long) remainder of the movie. The special effects were so bad that you could often easily make out the second guy’s body running alongside behind some black curtain.
Talk about campy. This was way beyond (or below)even “The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes” or the “Queen from Outer Space” with Zsa Zsa Gabor (You remember her, that multi-talented punch drunk Hungarian ex-boxer).
I’ll definitely take some heat for this, but to my mind, the absolutely worst major movie of all time was “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Talk about BOOOORING!
Ray Milland was also in ‘The man with x ray eyes’,to go all biblical"if thine eyes offend thee, pluck them out!" yeah, thats what he did at the end- i knew exactly how he felt! ‘They saved Hitler’s brain’was pretty crap-not a great deal happens, people constantly referring to’mr H.’,but YES,it DOES feature a disembodied brain in a glass tank(or maybe it was a watercooler? urgghh!)I personally nominate ANYTHING ‘starring’ jim Carey!-Any chance of him playing Hitler’s brain?
“Welcome to Woop Woop”. My housemate and I stumbled across it on TV this morning, watched about 5 minutes, and declared it the strangest thing we have EVER seen.

Solaris is playing in theaters now…
I’m suprised it got such good reviews. I suggest you save your money.
I heard of that American movie.
Since you saw it, is it a remake of the excellent Solaris by the regretted Andrej Tarkowsky, after Stanislas Lem’s SF novel ?
Hi,Zub.Yes,it’s a remake starring George Clooney.I read a good review of it in ‘The Guardian’(u.k. newspaper)the other day.I doubt whether it will be a patch on the original, but at least it will be a science fiction film which has some sort of serious story/theme,as opposed to constant noisy(sic)explosions in outerspace!
We used to have bad movie night, where we’d try to find the worst thing we’d never seen in the video store. The ultimate winner, over classics like “Skate or Die” and “Nazi Surf Punks” was one called Robo-chick.
Imagine Frankenhooker, driving a Fiero with all the body panels removed, fighting crime and you’re almost there. Add script even campier than the Batman TV series, slam down a quart of Maddog 2020 and you might be in the right frame of mind…
Thanks Tony, Kevin M.
I’ll go and check out this version of Solaris when it gets to France.
I was quite young when Tarkovsky’s appeared, but never missed his movies. Saw it three times, then read all of Lem’s
I just wish all the media hyping of the remake will push some to release the original, or that our public TV’s will have the wits to program it. Hope “Arte” channel doesn’t foul on this opportunity.

I can’t comment on movies I haven’t seen. The worst I HAVE seen was “Three Amigos”, a purported comedy with Chevy Chase, Martin Short and (Steve Martin??). As I said in another thread, by the time I got up and walked out I was wishing they’d given the bad guys live ammo.
Many of Bert I. Gordon’s movies, which were done on Mystery Science Theater 3000. There were actually a few in which NONE of the dialog was done by anyone facing the camera. As Crow said, he hadn’t mastered the technique of synching the lips with the sounds.
I haven’t seen it myself, but my sister was talking to the video store clerk who had a degree in ‘film,’ and he joked that the all-time worse movie was Devil Dogs from Hell. He said they kept it off the shelf and you had to ask for it. And he would give a verbal warning that it’s a bad movie. My sister was so intrigued, she just had to see it. She said it was the worse movie she ever saw. She didn’t elaborate, and I never asked.
Army of Darkness, on the other hand, has been unfairly maligned.
Tony
I’m surprised that none of the infamous Ed.Wood Jnr’s films- ‘plan 9 from outerspace’,‘Glen or Glenda?’,etc-haven’t been mentioned yet.I really enjoyed the film ‘ED.Wood’,starring johnny Depp,Martin Landau(as Bela Lugosi)and s.j. Parker,which portrayed the film-maker’s chaotic,but highly optimistic life.Depp played a great part,and he’s also a huge Pogues fan to boot,so a good guy in my book!Kevin’clutching at flimsy Irish music/crap film link’M.
