Holy Moley!! That’d be perfect for me. ![]()
Hmmm…should I go DADGAD, standard, or drop-D?
Okay…guitar is fascinating…article is intriguing.
Avatar is FREAKIN’ ME OUT, Tony!
I’m not sure which version of the ‘eyes’ is freaking me out most ![]()
Geez, they forgot the whammy bar!
Tony Higgins, if you don’t do something about those eyes I’m going to wet my pants and, trust me, you can ask lots of people, you don’t want to see that.
That’s what the poll function’s for, isn’t it?
Best wishes,
Jerry
Nice article about the guitar. I wonder if it comes with a gig bag or a hardshell case. It says the strings would resonate at inaudible frequencies. There’s a few guitarists I know that I wish they’d play inaudibly. ![]()
Wouldn’t it have been a drag if they finished the thing and then somebody sneezed?
Haha. That’s the kind of sophisticated comic image I like.

“If plucked – by an atomic force microscope, for example – the strings would resonate, but at inaudible frequencies.”
Inaudible? Hey! It’s the perfect guitar for an IrTrad session!

Is that a red blood cell, or a white blood cell? Where’s the amp? Details! Details!
If that’s the size of a nano-guitar, imagine the size of a nano-whistle…
My wife’s response, when showed the article and photo: “That’s stupid. Who’s gonna play it? A virus?”
Tony, would you ask them to make a full set of nano-uilleann pipes for me? In C, of course. I have no desire to play them at a session; it’ll be just to charm the occasional pathogen.
BTW, Dale, if anyone’s avatar would prompt me to void fluids it would be yours.
I visualize a Jimmy Hendrix amoeba…
Finaly future guitar players can start learning in the zygote stage of conception. To think I had to wait until i was in 3rd-4th grade before I could get my fingers around a standard neck. You think they’ll try a tinwhistle next? That way twins can play different intruments.

Nanotechnology could be used for a whole range of disturbing applications, too. It isin’t all little guitars. A swarm of molecule size machines could consume an enemy army, for instance. Or the enemy themselves. It is one of the most serious issues in the world right now, but the general popular conception of it is as some obscure topic for science fiction stories.
Does it go to 11?
Indeed. Despite my humorous take on this thread’s topic, the implications of nanotechnology can be very disturbing.
One question only: Why?
