-Start up WinAmp
-Right click on the player part of it
-Choose “Options” then “Preferences”
-In the window that pops up under
“Plug-ins” you will see “DSP/Effect”
-Highlight that catagory and then choose
“Roni Music Slow Me Down”. The controls
for this plug in should then appear.
the controls do appear and the it seems to work but nothing happens when you play a track. the track plays normally with no speed up or slow down.
With what file type/extension are you having trouble? MP3’s? midi? cd-audio? All?
Also, make sure “mono” is checked, not “bypass”.

dlambert,
are you actually sliding the ‘Slow Me Down’ stretch and pitch bars up or down??
I’m using an older computer and after making the selection I have to wait a second or two for the change to take effect.
I think that I have this figured out. I was trying to use slow me down with wma (microsoft media player) files. these do not work with dsp effects.
I tried it on a normal cd & also files converted to wav format. both worked just fine.
I found a site that has conversion tools wma to mp3 or wav. http://www.litexmedia.com/
I’m sure that there are other converters out there.
Thanks for all your help everyone.

Looks like Caren was on the right track… I’ve only used Winamp on mp3’s
Waaaa! It’s working to slow down a regular audio CD for you? I seem to be the only one using “slow me down” who can’t get it to work for regular audio CDs. It works fine for mp3s for me. I uninstalled winamp and installed a new version - didn’t help. Do you recall doing any configuration beyond activating “Roni Music…” under DSP/Effects? How do you import the tracks from audio CD into winamp? Mine happens automatically when I insert a CD. A friend had suggested I try copying the tracks to my hard drive first, but I really didn’t want to take up the space. Anyway, sorry to turn this into a tech support forum, but I have searched the web and can’t find any answers to why it works for mp3s but not CD-audio for me. It would really help my whistle-playing if I could get that to work!
Caren
you could use a cd ripper to pull the tracks off and convert to mp3 format. if you do a web serach on cd rippers there are a lot out there.

Audiograbber works well for me

So, while we’re on the subject, does anybody have any whistley winamp skins to share? I love winamp skins. The regular winamp is so boring looking. ![]()
