OT: Want to sell your soul? Calculate its value here.

Have you ever considered selling your soul? Here’s a site that gives you a two-page questionnaire and then calculates the dollar value of your soul, just in case the opportunity to sell it ever arises:

http://www.wewantyoursoul.com/

The results are in pounds, so here’s a currency converter:

http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll?qscr=curc

My soul’s worth $95,496.39, with 13% of people having a purer soul than mine. (By the way, does anyone know how to contact a buyer?)

Susan

I’m a buddhist. We don’t think we have souls.
Don’t even have a self!
‘Thoughts with no thinker, acts with no agent’
the Buddha taught.

I could have made a bundle. Rats!
Christians have all the fun.
Must reconsider…

No need to reconsider, Jim. Make that bundle. If you’re right, delivery is the buyer’s problem. But if you’re wrong … hmmm.

Your soul is worth £22617 ($38,935.17 - Thank God for the weak dollar, sounds more impressive this way!). For your peace of mind, 43% of people have a purer soul than you.

NICE! I could buy a WHOLE lotta bagpipes with this kind a coin!

Calls up soul broker…

Evidentally it doesn’t care much for non-Christian liberals: it reports that 71% of people have a soul purer than I currently have.

However, soiled though it may be, I think I’ll keep it, as all of my pentagrams would look funny with the top point gone. :smiling_imp:

That site is hilarious!!!

The scale doesn’t seem to like Christian moderates, either. Mine was calculated at $41,168.35, and I’m at the 60th percentile of “soul value.”

Dana

Wow, I’m impressed. More by the fact that only 13% of the people are above you than by the dollar value. Maybe you could call up Robert Johnson through a medium. I’ll bet he could put you onto something.

Steve

Good advice, Wombat. But consider the unfairness.
Aristotle and his Catholic incarnation, Aquinas,
maintain each of us has THREE souls.

A vegetative soul, which enables the animal
to digest food, breathe, excrete. This is still
there in a PVS.

An animal soul, which enables the animal
to locomote and perceive.

A rational soul, which enables the animal to
think and will. This soul alone can survive
the death of the animal, as a truncated remnant,
until it is re-embodied at the resurrection.

Elendil, therefore, can sell all three souls if he chooses.
Or better still, sell the first two,
invest the money in long-term bonds,
keep the rational soul, and collect a fortune
when he is re-embodied at the
resurrection.

Such a deal!

I really think this has more to do with what the buyer believes than what you believe Jim. With the right buyer, you’ll do just as well as Elendil. Just keep a poker face through the transaction.

Have you considered selling to Elendil?

Poker face it is. Do you think elendil wants six souls?
Oh yes, I see, he could sell five. As said above,
Christians have all the fun.

Of course if I’m a HIndu and believe that
each individual’s soul is really the World Soul,
I should be able to makea whole LOT of money
in the transaction. The problem is that we
all have the same soul, so I would need your
consent to sell mine (yours). We would have
to ask for collective compensation, as
when a tribe of Indians is re-imbursed
collectively for land taken by the government.
But could we all keep a poker face?

Actually, I questioned it too, Steve…I’m not that great a person. So I did it again and came up with a value of $48,443, with 38% of people having a purer soul. This sounds much more reasonable to me. I don’t know what the difference was…maybe I was more awake than the first time. I’ll settle for that - it’d more than pay off my debts.
Susan

I’m up for it if you are. I’m sure Ganesa will see us through. If we run into trouble we can just go Catholic and fall back on St. Jude.

$28,847.33

“56% of people have a purer soul than you.”

Hmmm …

"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? "
—Jesus Christ (St. Mark 8:36-37)

…soul valued at £47285 which means 14% of people have a purer soul than him/her.

not bad for a left wing non christian non vegetarian :smiling_imp:

I want one. How can I get one?

I’m neither Buddhist, Christian, Islamic, Jewish, Pagon, Hindu, Muslum, Bahai, Sikh, Tao, Zorastist, Jain, Zen, Confused, Neanderthal, Zionist, nor any of the primative or modern religions.

I’m just human. How will I know if/when I get one, and how can I tell if someone else has one?

PS: first things first before take the test, unless you’re saying that soul is equivilant to character–I know I’m a character!

Not kidding here:
125487 pounds.
Only 2% purer than me…

hmmm…

In Canadian, that is … a whole heck of a lot of money…
I’d practically be a millionaire.

278,572.41 Canadian dollars

On the other hand… this brings to mind a story I read once of a man who sold his soul to a demon, got a great life (not amazing, but nothing bad happened, good wife family house etc) and when the demon came to collect his soul, the man figured a way out of a puzzle that the demon gave, and ended up telling his former self not to sign the deal, and he got the same life…

Interesting thoughts…

Glad to see that vegetarianism counts for soul points.

So, 14% of people have a purer soul than me. Nonsence. I expected better results.

Maybe I should go vegan.

I’m not surprised. Somehow, I would expect Canadians to be purer than the rest of us.
Susan

“Bigger, badder, and holier than thou,” eh?
