People are dumb about things sometimes…
I asked for it to be deleted for the simple reason that this is indeed a whistle forum and that’s what we’re meant to talk about here.
Yes, it was funny.
Yes, it was meaningful.
Yes, I stood behind it.
But no, it didn’t belong in a whistle forum.

I think since there is no OT forum…I expect the whistle forum to be the main area for posting something that may be OT. I don’t remember Dale or anyone else asking for us to not post OT’s so I don’t see the problem. If the topic is correctly identified with “OT” than those who don’t care for such debate or topics can avoid it.
I have seen many debates and heated discussions about religion, politics etc… and none of them have been as hurtful or divisive as some of the “On Topic” posts I have read before. I personally find it fun and enlightening to discuss current events and things with such a diverse group of folks.
As long as people remember the “Reasonable Person Principle” free and open discussion makes the Whistle forum an interesting place to visit when the flute forums quiet.
Also when people start a topic please be mindful that others may be preparing a response and you waste their time when you subsequently close the topic. I know Chris didn’t mean too but it’s an easy way to get in a quick jab without having to listen to any consequent repercussion.
