I was in the middle of de-fragmenting a Win 98 machine when I lost power. (OK I accidentally turned off the power switch on the spikebar. ) Now it won’t boot all the way up. It bets almost all the way done then it stops and it says
ERROR LOADING EXPLORER.EXE
YOU MUST RE-INSTALL WINDOWS
I’ve done it from DOS before but I forgot how. If anyone can post instructions or PM me I sure would appreciate it. It’s an older machine but it was working fine before this happened. Thanks.
Paul, I’ve re-installed Win98 over existing installations lots o’ times without loosing the data (and configurations) that was originally there. Is this what you want to do? Get out the installation disk and boot up from the CD.
Ya?
