Doorbell rings, I’m not list’nin’,
On my chin, drool is glist’nin’,
I’m happy although
My boss let me go–
Happily addicted to the 'net.
All night long, I sit clicking,
Unaware time is ticking,
I’m becoming a geek,
Same clothes for a week,
Happily addicted to the 'net.
Friends come by and they shake me,
“Don’t you know tonight’s the senior prom?”
With a listless shrug, I mutter, “No, man;
I just discovered letterman-dot-com!”
I don’t phone, don’t send faxes,
Don’t go out, don’t pay taxes,
Who cares if someday
They drag me away?
I’m happily addicted to the 'net!

So do NOT waste your valuable internet time on anything but C&F, PWA, Ebay, The Whistle Shop and the links associated, anything that doesn’t have whistle as a key word, occasional email messages, and that new site I recently discovered: Episcotalk or something like that. Stay away from Mando Cafe, Irish banjo, Clips and Snips, anything that has ABC involved, and avoid Google search at all costs. Take a deep breath and wish someone Merry Christmas (or happy holiday) and smile, you’re on digital interface.
Nice way to start my mourning Redwolf. The only way I know that you are not floating off into the sunset on the wild and stormy Pacific aboard your makeshift raft of empty mailing tubes playing Ferwell to Tywathy on your Elfsong is when you post to the board. Good to know you are safe and in good spirits.
Between your song and Macks responce I cant help but to review my last 5 or 6 weeks and just shake my head. I mean I am sitting here at a desk heaping with notes covered with hither to unknown names, web sites, whistle makers, song titles, must have lists, half empty ritz cracker wrappers, overflowing ashtrays, an empty tobacco can filled with shiney metal tubes with holes in them, a totaly magical Gen brass D that has just ended my longing for that hundred dallar whistle, sent to me I might add by one of those presious names on one of the those notes whitch I am constantly writting to myself. This little planet out in cyber space has truely shaken my world. I am now on "Western Standard Whistle Time". I am constantly supprised as to what day it is let alone what time (in normal time that is)it is. I walk around with a whistle under my armpit so it will be warm when a tune pops into my head, I rarely see my living room in daylight and in fact just today noticed my supper computer sitting there covered in a layer of dust as thick as .....well covered in a layer of dust. I remember I built that thing to play flight sims; hmmm flight sims, yes there is a stack of them, could have been a Burke, big hooty do monitor, could have been a Copland or a Rose, supper wingding force feedback break my wrist joystick, could have been one of Alans flutes, mega motherboard and intel cpu a Hoover and a Serpent combo, increafast video card, Dixon 3 pc flute, megasoundblast an Elfsong. Havent even turned it on in a month. Wounder if it still works? Whats that Black Bird oh I know Red Winged Black Bird , wheres my D I know that song. And so it goes. If this is being lost in cyber space I hope not to be found.

I spend a fair amount of time on C&F, PWA, etc. As for Episcotalk, good idea, Mack…seems like the sort of dialogue I’d have an interest in.

Well, y’all are welcome over there (at EpiscoTalk) any time. We’re a friendly bunch (occasionally contentious, as only Anglicans can be, I think, but at the end of the day we’re always more than happy to raise a glass – and a prayer – together). We even have some traditional musicians on the board…JimB plays the Appalachian dulcimer, Keith (a Buddhist friend who drops in from time to time) plays the hammered dulcimer, Robin is involved with the worship music at his parish (and likes to do Celtic stuff), and then there’s little ol’ me
Redwolf
