I just found a small twenty-year-old bottle of red wine in my closet… 
Bottled Nov. 26, 1983. Anyone know anything about “Riunite Lambrusco dell’ Emilia” Italian wine? I’ve got 187 ml of it here and since I don’t drink, I have no idea what to do with it.

Keep it in the bottle as a souvenir… Lambrusco is a slightly carbonated Italian wine, which would appeal to anyone who has a taste for White Zinfandel. However, it is definitely not a wine you age, and therefore your particular sample has probably turned to vinegar.

It’s a cheap, relatively sweet, red wine. It was our favorite tipple when I was in college. It’s not bad, but it’s not great either…about on a par with most jug wines. Whether or not it will still be drinkable is anybody’s guess…that stuff’s aged as much as it’s going to when it goes on the shelves, so it may be vinegar by now.
