I want something which, while tasteful and not at all lurid, gets the readers’ (parents of teenage drivers) attention regarding teens and driving. I’d be grateful to anyone who can help. If I get a bunch of good ones, I’ll rotate occasionally. And, of course, I’ll credit you on the webpage!
Dale, I’m not a graphic designer, so I can’t help much with the logo. I do design and create instructional content for the web, though. I took a look at your site and found it difficult to read on a screen. I know serif fonts are recommended for hardcopy, but because the lighting situation is different for a monitor, sans serif is easier to read on a monitor. Also, the text on some of the pages looks very small on my monitor. Font selection can make those easier to read. E-mail me offlist if you want to talk more about this.
That’s an important site, btw. My nephew died in an accident with a teen driver. I haven’t read through your site yet, but I don’t think it was wise of a parent to give a teenaged boy her brand new Honda Accord to drive, on country roads, one week after his high school graduation. Maybe your site will keep someone else from doing that.
You know those “no whatever” signs which are a circle, a silouhette image, and a line through it? How about a silouhette of a car and just half a line to indicate “restricted,” maybe from the top right to the middle.
I really enjoyed your teen-driver site and sent it along to my daughter; the kids aren’t teens, yet, but soon will be, and now she has time to think about it.
