OT: Name that wine

I need some ideas for a new (sweet)blush we are making. This wine needs a name. Nothing too stuffy. My partners won’t go for my idea- Hog in the Weed- love that tune- I guess that was a bit too silly for them. Although they did agree to The Frosty Maiden for our new ice wine . So anyway, if you are so minded , put on your thinking cap and name the blush. If you are in VA and we use it , I’ll send you a bottle, if you are out of the state, I can’t . Stupid VA laws won’t let us ship out of state. But, I’ll send you a label- I know that’s not quiet the same, but it’s the best I can do.

How 'bout something like “Blushing Maid”? Or “Shy Maid”?

Redwolf

‘Blushing Bride’ maybe, while we’re on this theme?

Maiden’s Blush (it is a type of Rose).

All the Best, Tom

Château We Sell?

Ray Major ?

Modal Red ?

Pink Ivory ? (Rosé, of course…)

Knniggettt castle ?

Frog’s Leap ?

Corked Embouchure ?

Bouchure you drink ere you pay ?

(Old) Dominion Rosé [some kinda gothic lettering with a Rose image] Isnt that a name for Virginny? Or just one college?

You could do a retro and bring back Rosé name. That’s what they called em back in the day. Then the whole blush thing got over-exposed(wasn’t it Sutter Creek?)…

Just a silly idea…

PS Endured a 90-minute vacation time-share presentation to get a case of Round Hill non-vintage Merlot last weekend. Hey, it was worth it! But get this, cheeezy resort is a bunch of disguised trailers(!) in a marginal part of Napa, right on the muddy Napa River. They have about 14 grape vines that they call their “vineyard.” And yes, you will trade yer lux hotel in Ixtapa to come sleep in a trailer, I swear this is true.

Ahh, but wait 'til you see it in the brochures!

Zubivka, just paid close attention to the image in your sig for the first time. Where is the rest of the bike and aren’t those bar ends a bit problematic in a tumble?

John

Hey!!! Ya’ll are good. Yes, VA is the Old Dominion and I think that one is taken already(would have to research that to be 100% sure.

I’ll have to run these by the other members.
Seeing that I have a warped sense of humor, I really like corked embrochure, but I seriously doubt that that one will float.

Technically, there’s a difference between “blush” and “rose,” though that distinction has blurred as every winery had to market a “blush” to please their yuppie clientele. A rose is a blended wine (blended white and red), whereas a blush is a “white” wine made from red grapes…the skins are crushed with the grapes and then removed immediately, which imparts the pink color but none of the red-grape tannins.

I was a travel counselor for the state of Washington in my misspent youth, about the time the “blush” craze was taking off, and learning all about the state wineries and their product was part of the job (I loved doing the field research!

Oh come on John. That pick was taken after the tumble.

The rest of the bike is a Breezer kroozer a.k.a. “Ignaz X”, on which I collect all possible old-style components (Hite-rite post spring, rock-ring chainguard, magnet-dynamo fron hub, etc) so it weighs a ton and a half. Soon two tons, a parallelogram front springie being on the way!
As for bar ends, they suck, but these outrageous Cannondale “XYZ” look best on the mantlepiece. This doesn’t save them from being endangered as potential Bb wide bore funky whistles (left-handed and right-handed)…

Now back to the topic, to answer Redwolf.
I’ll allow myself a slight contradiction, or rather local precision, Rosé being a French word after all.
In France, it is forbidden to make Rosé by blending red and white wines. Rosés and “gray wines” ar all made from the claret (in the French sense of low tannin first juice, not the British nick for bordeaux) of red grapes.
The only exception to this rule–again in France–is Champagne Rosé, which are allowed blends of red and white wines. But Champagnes are already an exception in French regulations, most being a blend of wines from different origins or even vintages.

Not much of a wine drinker, but couldn’t you use something along the lines of Liebfraumilch? The Greman speakers on the board could probably give you a better name.

For myself, I’m busy trying to…

Amar… I’m shocked!

We’re here disgussing delicatessy, the poetry of the grape, er… ambrosia, etc.
When asked about a German-sounding sweet blush, I merely suggest delicate Rhein names like “Schloss Kuessmeinsuess”–so sweet and so blushing!–but you… sheesh and oh-là-là.

Now try and behave.
