There is a young man in Seattle who plays both Shakuhachi and Whistle with amazing skill. His name is Hanz Araki, and I have been waiting for an opportunity to say something about his music. I first heard of him through Casey Neill’s band The Casey Neill Trio. I would seriously recommend giving him a listen in either discipline. And his website’s pretty cool too.

Clips of Mohair…I love it! A great Dallas band that does Celtic Rock, the Killdares, has a version of the Cliffs on their first CD. If you like Celtic Rock, this band’s latest live album is to die for. That very loud whistling during the applause is me doing my very unpopular wolf call (makes peoples ears bleed).
