This is a question for Rich:
Exactly how accurate is the message counter and how does it work? I know there was a recent topic by Dale that listed the top 40 contributors. But when I look at, for example, my last 4 messages, the counter is at 236 for all of them.

The message counter is the same for all you posts. It changes in all your messages each time you post. So it will say 256 (or whatever) even next to your first post. To see the top 40 click on memberlist and then Posts at the top of that column to sort by posts. Loren should be first, aventuria third.
The counter/display section by each post is done off of a database query. So, each time you post, the database gets updated, and the display shows the current information, rather than the number of posts that you had when you made a post.
So, right now (On my screen) you show at 237. If you post another, then all your displays will show 238.
