I’ve just posted a topic in the ITM forum about this great musician, almost unknown outside Australia. I put it there because the forum is slower-moving and topics stay current longer, but I’d appreciate it if you would read it.

Basically: Louis is a fabulous musician who has been disabled by strokes but a benefit CD of past performances is available. Read the whole thing at:

I’ve just chimed in on the ITM board with a little more information on this CD. To cut a long story short, I cannot recommend a CD more highly than I recommend this one.

For anyone hesitant about ordering this CD because of the apparent shipping charges through Celtic Southern Cross, I got a very nice and apologetic email from them this morning explaining problems they’re having with their website ordering shipping charges. The actual charge is approx. AUS$7 for shipping.

A quick addendum…I received another email from Beth at CSC this morning again apologizing for the shipping charge problems. She said that my shipping charges were actually about $4 US, bringing the total to about $19 US. She also said that they only had four CDs left as of that time.

For reasons that I’ve explained on the ITM board, there is no need to be put off from ordering by the dwindling numbers in stock at CSC. Check The ITM for a brief explanation of what is going on.

When I tried to buy one, the website said they are all out now. Maybe they’ll get more at some point…

In the ITM forum StevieJ suggested this:

“…if the CD interests you, …send an email to CSC (Celtic Southern Cross) telling them you want to buy a copy and asking them to contact you when they have more stock. A backlog of orders will do wonders.”

I know that StevieJ and Wombat are making good progress on getting more copies available, but the email to CSC will surely help.

Wanted to post my impression of this CD (duplicate post on the ITM forum):
I received my copy of this CD today and could hardly wait to listen to it - I wasn’t disappointed. Others have described the various tunes wonderfully and I won’t try to do that - but these recordings sound like so much fun! A couple of the tracks took me by surprise - not really ITM - but they add wonderful variation. “Feathers” is just plain gorgeous. This is really great music and Louis McManus is obviously an awesome musician.

Thanks for your interest, Blackhawk and everybody else.

More copies are out there… the distributor has located two unsold batches - it’s just a question of negotiating terms. I hope that they will become available through Celtic Southern Cross, but I feel safe in saying that they will become available, possibly very soon.

Either way Wombat and I will keep you posted.

Just to let you all know that according to their web page, Celtic Southern Cross now have a small batch of the CD in stock. More should become available later but we don’t know for sure. So if you’re interested now’s the time to snap one up.
