My wife is a Karaoke junkie. Certifiable she is. I have to admit, though, it is a lot of fun. We go to a place here in Atlanta over in the Korean/Vietnamese/Chinese/Mexican part of town called the Dynasty Karaoke Bar. I am the only non-Asian that I have ever seen there.
Last night it was me, my Wife (Cindy) and mostly a lot of Vietnamese folks there. I was the only English singer in the whole place as usual. The main reason for me posting this is to tell y’all that there is actually a lot of really good Vietnamese and Chinese music out there. I normally O N L Y listen to Traditional Irish and American folk music but every time I go out for karaoke I am amazed about the great asian music I hear. Some is obviously modern. I’ve even heard Cantonese rap! 
Besides the traditional stuff which is definitely in the minority, and very cool, I always am surprised by the quality of the music that I hear. I’m telling you… if you’ve never heard Veitnamese music you would be amazed about the excellent songs. Every time I go I am frankly flabergasted about it. If you live in a place with an Asian karaoke bar you have to check it out. It’s pretty cool.
