You were always my favourite and most musical Beatle.God bless you and thanks for a lifetime of amazing music. :frowning: Peace, Mike

Ditto from Deadwood.

Something in the way he played…
Christian

My whistle gently weeps.

All things must pass.

Rest in peace.

I’ve already played Amazing Grace for you George, and I hope all other will, as well.
You will surely be missed.

Sunrise doesn’t last all morning
A cloudburst doesn’t last all day-

I truly wish it did
truly sad beyond belief
and truly ready for 2001 to come to an end.

Geez I’m sad to hear this bad news.
What a loss! There goes the sun.

I just heard the news awhile ago on the radio - a local radio station is doing an all day Beatles music marathon in memory of George Harrison and I’ve been listening to it. When they said “In memory of George Harrison” I just stared at the radio is disbelief, I couldn’t believe it. It’s just so sad. I’m in the process of writing a free-verse about it actually. I can’t believe he died - it’s so sad and such a shock… :frowning:

George: I know you can’t read this, but your contributation to music will never be forgotten…

It would be really cool if folks who know any Beatles/Harrison tunes on whistle (or flute) would post a few at clips and snips, as our own little tribute…

Loren

Who would have thought the next Beatles reunion would have been between John and George. He was the cool Beatle, joining the jam session of all sessions.

Was there ever any whistle played on any of Beatle songs by the Beatles or their studio players ??? If so, details would be very interesting.

A friend quoted him today as saying,
“Searching for God cannot wait, all else can” or words to that effect. Take heed, my friends. GM

bob bakski:
Yes there was, only one I know of, “Fool On The Hill” has both the whistle and recorder. Jackorion told me about the song, actually, I heard it for the first time ever today; I didn’t hear all of the song because it was on the radio and I turned it on in the middle of it, but from what I could tell it had really nice ornamentation - jackorion told me Paul played the recorder in it, but I’m not sure who played the whistle. It’s a very cool song and when I buy it on tape, I’m definitely going to learn it!
Peace,
Sara

I woke to this sad news. He was my favorite Beatle, too. Even though all things must pass this just seems too soon.

Mary

God bless George Harrison!

Thanks, Jon…for giving the correct quote. Betty

In memorial:
He played from the Heart.

He’s one I’ll miss.
I’ll continue to enjoy his music and keep him alive in my heart.

Without even making a conscious connection, I slipped in El McMeen’s The Lea Rig CD today and played it through. I had forgotten that there is a wonderful version of “Here Comes The Sun,” on the CD. It was great to hear it again.
